“IFS is a transformative tool that conceives every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts lead by a core Self. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal.”

Ketamine FAQs
-
Assisted Psychotherapy uses medicine or substances that can alter states of consciousness, allowing new ways to process thoughts and feelings. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is currently legal and available here in Kansas. The FDA is in the process of evaluating the use of MDMA for the treatment of PTSD. We are hopeful that MDMA will be approved by the FDA and be available for use with Assisted Psychotherapy in the near future.

ItemKetamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has been shown to be safe and effective for over 50 years. It is most often used as an anesthetic for minor surgeries and emergency pain relief. The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed it as one of the World’s essential medications.
In the past 20 years, there has been increasing research on the use of Ketamine for mental health symptoms including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and alcoholism. Studies on depression treatment with Ketamine have shown over 70% of participants with “treatment-resistant depression” experienced substantial improvement in their depression. description

Is ketamine safe?
When administered under professional supervision, ketamine is generally considered safe. Ketamine has been used medically for decades and is FDA-approved as an anesthetic. In the context of therapy, doses are carefully calibrated and administered in a controlled, supportive environment to ensure your safety and comfort. As with any medical treatment, there are risks, and a comprehensive screening process is used to determine whether ketamine-assisted therapy is right for you. -
Ketamine can help reset the brain’s Default Mode Network (DMN). The DMN is active when you are daydreaming, thinking about yourself and others, recalling events from the past, and preparing for the future. Changes in the DMN can allow negative thinking patterns to shift, resulting in more hopeful and healthier thoughts.
Ketamine also improves neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to reorganize neural networks or connections associated with learning, experiences, or after injuries. This enhanced neural communication can help reprocess the thoughts or feelings you have about past experiences.
Additionally, Ketamine helps with excitotoxicity and inflammation in the brain.

-
I recommend starting with 3 sessions over a period of time that you and I decide together. Some of the literature with improvement in PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety is based on the completion of 3 KAP sessions. Some clients will require additional sessions to meet their therapy goals.
-
Depends on the dosage, but most KAP sessions last between 1.5-2 hours. Each individual will respond uniquely to the medicine and metabolize differently.
